About this piece
Raising the bowl on a stem moves the colour patch away from the base of the glass — at low sun it lands a hand's width across the table. The stem is drawn from the same batch of glass as the bowl, so it is sea-coloured throughout.
Care and safety
- The rim is bare glass. No coating or paint sits within 20 mm of the lip.
- Glass breaks. A chipped rim or a cracked base can cut — stop using the piece and wrap the pieces before discarding them.
- Soda-lime glass. Do not pour boiling water into it.
- Stemware is the easiest thing in a dishwasher to knock against something else. Load it so the bowl touches nothing.
